The French Alexandrine is a truly beautiful form of poetry. The combination of the French language with the unmatched meter of iambic pentameter is stunning. I've been working on a quatrain, and I think it's finally finished. The poem is titled "Jaune."

La rose du desert dans le soleil scintille,
Pétales éclats dorées. Il faut ne pas toucher;
Elle sait causer douleur, épines peut tuer.
Chaleur fane la fleur, enfin moi je l'oublie.
